The  “wild” Crocus is native to former Yugoslavia where it grows in light woodland. Slightly variable pale silvery lilac to deeper lilac, purple, reddish- or pinkish purple. They all have a white perianth  tube and no yellow at all. Often seen seeding itself out in garden in western Europe too.
