sulcatum

(50 cm high)

A striking plant with red, chestnut brown to purple flowers. The plant only got its name in 1984, before that it belonged to Trillium erectum, but the plant is more robust and has the flowers on stems above the leaves. This large Trillium flowers every year in the shadow garden at the Boschhoeve in Wolfheze and has already been photographed several times by me. This year we have some supply again. Trilliums are real forest plants: they bloom in spring on humus-rich and moist soil.
